The Athletic Trainer is responsible for a variety of duties related to active lifestyle injuries and injury prevention under the direction of a healthcare provider. This position acts as a liaison between healthcare providers, patients, athletes, and community as a whole. The Athletic Trainer evaluates and advises individuals to assist recovery from or avoid athletic-related injuries or illnesses.
Job Responsibility:
Direct Patient Care Provides direct patient care including conducting assessments, assisting with procedures, rooming patients, defining plans of care, and providing appropriate related treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning
Patient Triage Triages and treats injuries under the supervision of the provider
Patient Counsel Counsels and works closely with patients, families, and caregivers to support and personify the Franciscan Mission
Education Flexible, self-starter that continuously educates themselves on the most up to date wellness and disease management education
Documentation Documents and records history, injuries, and treatment plan to promote optimal patient care and outcomes
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Athletic Training
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) - Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)
