The England Athletics Athlete Panel is a representative body that connects the athlete community with the England Athletics Board and Senior Leadership Team. Established to ensure that the athlete voice is embedded in key decisions, the Panel provides insight, feedback, and challenge on matters that directly impact athletes across our sport.
Job Responsibility:
Provide constructive feedback on decisions and proposals that impact athletes
Seek input from athletes across England to ensure diverse and representative views inform Panel discussions (ensuring confidentiality and anonymity)
Make recommendations that support positive change in athlete experience and competitive structures
Attend and contribute to a minimum of four meetings per year (online or in person)
Serve as an independent observer at selection meetings when required
Represent the athlete voice at EA events where appropriate
Support formal reporting to the EA Board at least once per year
Requirements:
Minimum five years’ experience competing in athletics at any level
Experience training within a club environment
Experience competing in age-group, county, regional, or national leagues (track & field and/or cross country)
Representation of one of the identified event groups or pathways (e.g., sprints, endurance, throws, para-athletics)
Ability to contribute informed, constructive insight and support collaborative discussion
Commitment to fairness, integrity, and supporting the development of the sport
