The Junior Manager/Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily production activities of the heavy fabrication shop, ensuring targets are met efficiently, safely, and in compliance with high-quality standards. This role requires a strong technical background and extensive experience in managing large-scale fabrication processes.
Job Responsibility
Manage the complete heavy fabrication cycle, including material preparation, cutting, fitting, welding, and assembly of complex heavy engineering components
Drive daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to ensure timely delivery and optimal utilization of resources and machinery
Oversee in-process and final inspections to ensure all fabricated products meet drawing specifications and stringent quality standards
Ensure compliance with all required welding procedures (WPS) and standards for heavy structural fabrication
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of fabrication engineers, foremen, and technicians to maintain productivity and foster a highly skilled workforce
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce rework, and minimize scrap costs
Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and regulatory compliance within the heavy fabrication environment
Requirements
10 to 15 years of proven, relevant experience in a Heavy Fabrication Production Background
Experience managing heavy fabrication for industries such as power, heavy machinery, automotive, or engineering
Deep knowledge of various welding techniques, blueprint reading, non-destructive testing (NDT) standards, and precision fabrication techniques
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering or a related technical field is preferred
