TSA Riley is looking for an Associate to join our Business Case and Economics team based in NSW. This role suits someone with strong analytical skills, clear writing ability and solid experience in infrastructure or public-sector investment work. You will lead the preparation of business cases and economic advice for major infrastructure and policy projects across transport, health, education, justice, utilities and energy. Most work is based in NSW, with opportunities to work across jurisdictions and with teams nationally. This is a hands-on role. You will be closely involved in analysis and writing, while also leading teams and working directly with clients.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the development of business cases, feasibility studies and investment advice from start to finish
Guide teams on economic and financial analysis, including cost-benefit analysis, option assessment, demand and capacity analysis, and risk
Shape clear and practical investment stories that help senior decision-makers understand options and trade-offs
Review analysis, models, reports and presentations to ensure they are clear, accurate and fit for purpose
Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong working relationships with senior stakeholders
Support business development activities and help grow TSA Riley's Advisory capability and pipeline
Coach and mentor consultants, setting clear expectations for quality and professionalism
Requirements:
A degree in economics, finance, engineering, planning, public policy or a related field
10+ years' experience in infrastructure advisory, economics or management consulting, engineering advisory, or government investment or assurance roles
Strong experience leading business cases or major investment proposals, ideally in a government or regulated infrastructure setting
Practical experience with economic or financial evaluation, such as cost-benefit analysis and option assessment
Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues in plain language
Enough technical depth to review and challenge models and assumptions
A collaborative leadership style and an interest in developing people
