Job Description

The Associate, Procurement (Wind) is responsible for supporting the wind turbine procurement team at Clearway Energy Group in facilitating strategic vendor relationships and securing the equipment needed to advance Clearway’s multi-gigawatt project pipeline. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of wind turbine technology and the renewable energy industry. This position will support turbine procurement strategies that ensure the timely delivery of quality owner-furnished wind turbine equipment to projects and provide administrative and stakeholder coordination support to the wind procurement team.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the procurement team in transactions and internal reporting for owner-furnished wind turbine equipment and long-term service agreements in close coordination with development, construction, and operations business units
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute sourcing solutions for multi-technology projects
  • Support competitive RFx bidding and contracting efforts in coordination with internal stakeholders and OEMs.
  • Provide document support and input on supply and service agreements with vendors and stakeholders to ensure efficient closure of negotiations and stakeholder review
  • Take ownership of and negotiate key exhibits to relevant contracts and ensure stakeholder review and engagement
  • Facilitate the procure-to-pay process for owner-furnished wind turbine equipment, including vendor qualification and onboarding, vendor selection, TSA negotiations, long-term service agreement negotiations, internal approvals, issuance of purchase orders, management of payments, logistics, and quality assurance
  • Maintain records of received turbine and service bids and work with internal SMEs to generate forward-looking technology and cost projections for owner-furnished wind turbine equipment
  • Support technology assessments and reviews of existing and upcoming turbine platforms, and effectively communicate the opportunities and risks associated with each technology
  • Assist internal project and engineering teams with coordinating RFIs to equipment manufacturers
  • Assist with the project financing process, facilitating inputs from OEMs and interdisciplinary teams to independent engineering (IE) questions
  • Provide key inputs to cashflow models in support of the organization’s liquidity optimization
  • Support internal updates and reporting of organizational and procurement progress and status

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, supply chain, engineering/technical degree, or related field
  • 3+ years of wind industry experience
  • Familiarity with commercial negotiations and contracting
  • Effective project management, negotiation, contract management, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), OneNote, and document control

Nice to have

  • Experience in Turbine Supply Agreements and wind O&M agreements
  • Familiarity with SAP procurement systems is preferred
