We are working on an associate level TD working on mens wovens and knits and some womens knits. Role is based in Greenpoint, NY and is 3-4 days on site as needed. Job Responsibility
Support the Technical Design team in ensuring garments meet the brand's standards for fit, construction, grading, and quality while remaining scalable for production
Partner closely with Design, Product Development, Production, and external vendors to help translate design concepts into technically sound garments
Assist with fit evaluations, technical documentation, and garment construction reviews
Assist in maintaining technical accuracy and consistency across product categories
Support the development and maintenance of technical packages, measurement charts, grade rules, construction standards, block libraries
Ensure technical documentation is accurate and updated
Support the fit process by reviewing and evaluating samples at various stages
Assist in evaluating garment fit, balance, and proportion
Record fit comments and update technical documentation
Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure fit corrections are implemented accurately
Assist in assessing construction details to ensure garments meet aesthetic and functional standards
Evaluate fabric properties
Support recommendations for garment engineering improvements
Partner with Product Development and vendors to troubleshoot construction or pattern issues
Communicate fit comments and technical updates clearly to vendors and internal teams
Track sample revisions
Help monitor development progress
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of technical design experience
Degree in patternmaking, technical design preferred
Experience working with multiple product categories preferred
Strong understanding of garment construction and pattern terminology
Experience evaluating fit and reviewing samples
Knowledge of grading and measurement specifications
Experience creating and maintaining technical packages
Proficiency in PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office / Excel
