We are building a culture of collaboration and seeking an imaginative, strategic, and versatile Associate Technical Artist with a focus on performance evaluation and team support to join our team in Carlsbad, California. If you share a passion for developing groundbreaking worlds and player experiences, then this may be the position you've been waiting for. This role is based in our Carlsbad, CA office and follows an onsite work schedule of four days per week. Work arrangements may change at the company's discretion to meet business needs.

Job Responsibility:

  • CPU and GPU performance investigation using existing profiling tools
  • Provide frame rate analysis and guidance to artists
  • Collate and distribute memory budgets and streaming guidelines with suggestions on best practices
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of Coders, Artists and Technical Artists cultivating a positive team dynamic
  • Work quickly and effectively to support content creators
  • Create, maintain, and improve on existing C# and/or Python proprietary pipelines

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' professional experience working in technical art or technical animation roles
  • Professional experience working with real time engines and related tools
  • Object oriented software design skills using Python, C#, or similar languages
  • An understanding of the trade-offs between visual quality and performance
  • Solid experience in tool and pipeline development
  • Be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with development teams
  • Strong problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • An adaptable and continuous learner approach, and be flexible and comfortable with prototyping and quick iteration

Nice to have:

  • A CS or Technical Art Degree
  • Basic rigging and skinning experience
