This position is responsible for managing the ILM artists within their designated department(s) with the support and guidance of the Senior Talent Managers/Director of Talent. This role also works closely with Producers, Studio Production Manager and others as appropriate to schedule artists to ensure proper casting as well as timely and efficient completion of projects.
Job Responsibility:
In conjunction with Sr Talent Manager(s) - manage artist crewing and scheduling for specific departments. Responsible for the artists day to day in regards to queries, absence, performance, timecards, annual reviews, career progression, next show opportunities and contract extensions
Working closely with the Sr Talent Manager(s)/ Director of Talent and HR when people issues arise and escalating these effectively
Through weekly CG Status meetings and department specific meetings, maintains regular contact with Shows to ensure that crewing needs are met
Maintains overview of utilisation using established departmental production management and tracking systems
Working closely with the Sr Talent Manager(s), maintains an overall schedule for digital artists. Creates - and maintains scheduling overviews and availability schedules upon request
Determines and projects current and future project-based personnel needs based on input from Studio Production Manager, Sr Talent Manager(s) and Production. This includes maintaining contact with Producers regarding overall crew size requirements, crew start and end dates and show start/delivery dates as well as incorporating bidding data into facility projections. Flags potential problems in regards to any of these
Works collaboratively with Production, Supervisors and Recruitment to define and communicate ongoing recruitment requirements for assigned departments
Works closely with Sr Talent Manager(s) and Department HOD in relation to artist management, casting and people development
Special projects as needed on an on-going basis as assigned
Requirements:
Previous experience in VFX industry in a scheduling or other relevant role or other high-end computer graphics production environment preferred
Proven experience of people/artist management
Knowledge of computer graphics terminology and a thorough understanding of the processes involved in CG post production
Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly
High levels of self-motivation and proactiveness as well as reactiveness
Demonstrable ability to interact well with groups of individuals with different personalities, perspectives and talents
Proven analytical skills, effective scheduling and time management abilities
Proactive and pragmatic approach to problem-solving with an ability to create process and useful data with ambiguous information
Excellent administrative, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite
Must be able to work quickly and effectively to turn around reports and analysis in a timely manner
