Job Description

The Appian Solution Engineering team provides technical expertise to our customers around the globe, touching every layer of the Appian platform. From data analysis to creative problem solving, our Solution Engineers tackle the most challenging technical problems encountered by Appian customers and partners. Looking for a position that allows you to engage all of your many technical talents? Do you particularly excel at not only solving complex technical problems, but also at communicating the solution clearly and effectively? As an Associate Solution Engineer, you’re a technical “Jack/Jill of All Trades”; you love figuring out “how things work”, and you’ll be a resident expert on the inner workings of the Appian platform.

Job Responsibility

  • Work closely with our customers to help lead continual improvement in the availability, performance, functionality and security of our platform

  • Flexibility to provide after business hours support (rotation every 10-15 weeks)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline, Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar degree program
  • History of academic success (Distinction average required, i.e. WAM 75+)
  • Provide after business hours support for proper handoff with our other regions as needed
  • Flexibility to provide after hours weekend support for up to 14 weeks per year - Up to 1 quarter per year working this adjusted schedule may be required (Sunday->Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday)
  • Bilingual in Japanese and English

Nice to have

  • Programming / scripting (e.g. Java, Perl, Ruby, C#, PHP)
  • RDBMS platforms (e.g. MySql, Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Systems administration (e.g. Linux, Windows)
