A top 150 construction consultancy based in Central London is seeking an Associate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This Quantity Surveyor opportunity offers a client-facing role across a diverse range of projects, providing strategic cost management and commercial leadership from feasibility through to final account. This Quantity Surveyor position will suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to step into an Associate Quantity Surveyor role, taking ownership of key accounts and supporting the development of junior quantity surveyor team members. The consultancy delivers projects across commercial, residential and mixed-use sectors throughout London. The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor will lead cost planning, procurement and contract administration across multiple schemes. The Associate Quantity Surveyor will act as the primary commercial contact for clients, ensuring accurate reporting, effective risk management and clear cost advice at every stage. You will support business development activities, contribute to fee proposals and play a key role in strengthening existing client relationships.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and prepare detailed cost plans, budgets and feasibility studies
Manage tender processes, including preparation of documentation, analysis and recommendations
Provide full pre and post contract Quantity Surveyor services
Oversee change control, valuations and final accounts
Produce monthly cost reports and present to clients
Support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors
Contribute to business development and client relationship management
Requirements:
MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
Minimum 8+ years’ Quantity Surveyor experience within a consultancy environment
Strong pre and post contract experience
Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently
Experience leading client meetings and providing strategic commercial advice
Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
