Job Description:

Associate Project Manager for a 3 year contract, hybrid position in Columbia, MD. Key needs include telecom background, high volume PO's, CD's, and strong report tracking skills (Excel/PowerBI/etc).

Job Responsibility:

  • Project manage one or more aspects of a customer deployment on multiple applications, and ensure projects are completed according to mutually agreed upon timeline of customer and company and in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Project manage/support all facets of an application from entry into companies systems to construction complete and closeouts delivered, including, but not limited to, the following services: pole inspections, JPA, GO95 rules and construction management
  • Ensure District Manager/lead Project Manager (if applicable) are aware of issues that will impact project completion or cost
  • Responsible for the management and coordination of team members in obtaining and maintaining all requisite documents related to said projects including, but not limited to, pole inspections
  • Vendor management, where applicable
  • Responsible for forecasting Project Management Tool dates (e.g., initial forecast, updated forecast)
  • Participate in internal & external deployment meetings as directed by lead Project Manager, and interact with carrier representative as needed
  • Deal with inspection and repair issues as they arise
  • Communicate and coordinate with relevant functions and parties as needed
  • SOV/PO and Financial Tracking
  • Material Tracking and Support, as needed

Requirements:

  • One (1) to three (3) years of project management experience in telecom industry
  • Smartsheet experience is highly desired
  • CAPM or PMP preferred
  • Knowledge of telecommunications/wireless project management, asset management, JPA knowledge, G095 rules and guidelines
  • Ability to direct the diagnosis of workflow problems, critical paths and institute remedies
  • Ability to read and understand financial metrics and identify remedies to financial issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of construction services: telco, power, fiber, basic construction, vendor equipment requirements, towers, lines, and antennas
  • Ability to communicate across multiple service groups to both internal and external customers
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

Nice to have:

  • ideally would like to see someone with telecom backround and has done high volume PO's, CD's
  • But will be a utility player and telecom not 100% required
  • Need this person to be strong in report tracking (Excel/PowerBI/etc)
