As the (Associate) Programme Manager, you are the operational heartbeat of a critical national defence programme. Reporting directly to one of the Programme Leads, you will bridge the gap between high-level strategic objectives and the day-to-day realities of technology delivery. You will drive the operational rhythm of the programme, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple work streams to support the end-to-end delivery of a next-generation weapon system. Job Responsibility:
Supporting the Programme Leads in tracking progress against the master schedule, identifying potential delays and dependencies before they become critical
Facilitating key programme meetings, including status reviews and stand-ups, ensuring they are well-prepared, documented, and actions are tracked to completion
Supporting external client/partner engagements
Acting as the central point of contact for information requests, ensuring a single source of truth for programme data and documentation
Preparing high-quality briefing packs, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership and key stakeholders
Engaging with technical delivery teams to understand their progress, challenges, and resource needs, translating this into programme-level insights
Supporting programme governance activities, helping to ensure compliance with established processes and standards
Requirements:
2-4 years of experience in a project/programme delivery or consulting role
Come from a fast-paced, entrepreneurial background, where you have learned to structure problems, manage stakeholders, and deliver high-quality work under pressure
Possess exceptional organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively
Are a natural communicator, able to clearly and concisely convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Have hands-on experience with core PMO activities, including risk and issue management, status reporting, and meeting facilitation
Are highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint for creating compelling presentations and Excel for data analysis and tracking
Are proactive, resourceful, and have a "can-do" attitude, ready to take ownership and support the team wherever needed
Thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment and are comfortable with a degree of ambiguity
Are eligible to obtain and maintain the necessary level of security clearance
Have an interest in or prior exposure to the defence, aerospace, or public sector
