An opportunity is available for an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join Newborn Services at Joan Kirner Women’s & Children’s. The unit combines NICU and SCN care and supports one of Australia’s busiest maternity services. In this senior nursing role, the ANUM provides clinical leadership, ensuring safe practice and high-quality care, while supporting the Nurse Unit Manager with operational management. This position is part of a dynamic and growing Newborn Services team within Western Health’s Women’s & Children’s Division.
Job Responsibility:
Provide clinical leadership, coordination, and supervision of nursing staff during each shift
Role model high-quality, evidence based neonatal practice and support early career and less experienced staff
Contribute to operational management, including resource allocation, workflow oversight and escalation of clinical concerns
Participate in quality improvement, research activities, policy development and adverse event reviews
Support education, orientation and professional development of staff, students and graduates within Newborn Services
Requirements:
Current AHPRA registration as a registered nurse
Postgraduate qualification in Neonatal Intensive Care (or equivalent) with a minimum of three years current NICU experience
Demonstrated advanced clinical skills in neonatal intensive care nursing
Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
