Job Description:

Austin Health is seeking an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our innovative Youth Prevention and Recovery Centre (YPARC). You'll play a vital role in clinical leadership, working alongside the Team Leader to deliver exceptional, recovery-oriented mental health care to young people aged 16-25 years. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service that provides a safe, youth-friendly residential setting for young people transitioning from inpatient care or stepping up from community support.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessments, and care coordination for young people and their families
  • Facilitate recovery-focused group programs and psychoeducation sessions
  • Work collaboratively with MIND Australia in a co-designed model of care
  • Champion Recovery Oriented Practice, Trauma Informed Care, and the Safewards Model
  • Support staff education, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Partner with young people and families/carers to develop individualised service plans

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Minimum 2 years in mental health nursing, preferably with young people
  • Ability to develop, implement and evaluate consumer-centred individual service plans, risk assessments and diagnostic formulations
  • Understanding of mental health recovery principles, trauma-informed practice, and youth mental health systems
