Associate Merchandise Planner

• Manage monthly open to buy in assigned areas of business
• Advise demand planner and buying team on inventory metrics, sales, margin, inventory and promotional changes
• Make in-season recommendations/decisions on business approaches, including pricing, sales driving promotions, and inventory flow remediation
• Make pre-season inventory management recommendations including: assortment gaps, liquidation candidates, markdown/buyback requirements, mix of novelty/fashion, and benchmarks for productivity
• Analyze and contribute recommendations on cost/benefit of assortment expansion, changes in pricing or promotional strategies, extra services, special programs, vendor diversification, and company-wide expansions of inventory
• Define inventory, in partnership with buying team that will achieve sales plan
• Present point of view on owned area of business in sales projection review and production planning review alignment meetings with demand planning
• Optimize markdowns and liquidations on underperforming merchandise

• Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years related experience
• 3+ years related experience
• Strong analytical and relationship building skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Two plus years related experience in merchandise planning or buying
• Comfortability in Excel
• Experience in Microstrategy a plus
