Supporting Biocomposites’ approach to communicating scientific information on unapproved uses (referred to as SIUU) of approved/cleared medical products to Health Care Professionals (HCP) to inform their clinical practice decisions for the care of an individual patient.
Job Responsibility:
To respond to unsolicited requests from clinicians, whilst understanding and applying country specific guidelines for responding to unsolicited requests
Maintain a database of requests and maintain the process for dealing with this for Biocompsites Ltd
Support the provision of SIUU to HCPs across all channels
face-to-face, print and digital
Present presentations on relevant studies/clinical data for HCPs in accordance with applicable guidance
Present latest papers and clinical updates in a monthly seminar to Biocomposites staff
Identify and understand how our products are used by HCP in practice within and outside their approval/clearance
Identify and review any new papers for the bibliography of clinical reference sources (e.g. clinical practice guidelines, reference texts) that refer to Biocomposites’ products and competitor products
Work with the rest of the MSL team to understand and develop best practice for the provision of SIUU and the responding to unsolicited requests
As required, offer scientific support to other teams within the company (sales, marketing, regulatory)
Requirements:
Master’s degree in a scientific subject or relevant experience
1-2 years’ experience in supporting unsolicited requests
Knowledge of scientific principles and concepts
Good communications skills including scientific writing for different audiences
Flexibility to cover surgeon availability as required
Nice to have:
Postgraduate certificate in a scientific discipline
Working knowledge of the guidelines for responding to unsolicited requests and sharing SIUU
