Job Description

The mechanical designer at Power Design is the brain behind the design of mechanical systems on our large-scale projects. As the mechanical designer, you’ll work on HVAC load calculations, equipment selections, and ductwork and piping layouts.

Job Responsibility

  • Coordinate the best design solutions for mechanical systems by applying industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements
  • Communicate effectively with the design and project team members

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant mechanical design experience
  • Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Revit experience preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical and plumbing codes (IPC, IMC, IBC, ASHRAE)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals and specifications and perform basic plumbing calculations
  • Knowledge of HVAC load calculations using Trane Trace or similar HVAC load and energy analysis programs, as well as experience in duct sizing, layout and design for air systems
  • Demonstrate and uphold all of Power Design’s core values, which include integrity, accountability, teamwork, innovation and growth
