Job Description:

The Associate Loan Administrator supports, facilitates the loan servicing and administration function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, on-going reporting, and system maintenance. The Associate Loan Accountant ensures adherence to existing controls surrounding loan servicing and administration and further develops systems of internal controls, supporting continuous improvement and upgrading of information systems and reporting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supports, facilitates the loan servicing and administration function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, on-going reporting, and system maintenance
  • Ensures adherence to existing controls surrounding loan servicing and administration and further develops systems of internal controls, supporting continuous improvement and upgrading of information systems and reporting
  • In charge of the centralized Accounts Payable of the Loan Administration group
  • Preparing Protective Advances on Default loans that are mostly for the payment of invoices
  • Monitoring of US Borrower payments received at Synovus or other banks
  • Creating wire templates and securing their approval for use
  • Facilitating prompt and accurate recording of transactions at The Mortgage Office (TMO)
  • Organizing the files for the loan admin team at Sharepoint
  • Assisting in obtaining loan and investor documents to facilitate loan and lender set-up at TMO
  • Posting monthly at TMO of the EFT and ACH to individual loans and monitoring any payment returns
  • Assisting in monthly payment distribution either by online transfer or wire or depositing of Cheques
  • Directly providing or providing Investor Relations with copy of payments made and supporting schedule
  • Periodically cleaning-up of the various Loan Servicing Trust Accounts
  • Assisting with regular TMO maintenance such as verifying or completing the information as reported on data integrity check
  • Updating monthly Computershare on loan ownership changes and ensuring that Ownership Certificates on file are current and complete
  • Providing monthly Mortgage Statements to the Borrowers
  • Assisting in the preparation of investor documents, monitoring their signing/execution and saving the file
  • Preparing Originator Deferred Fee Schedule on applicable paid out loans for Senior Accountant’s review
  • Assisting in packaging and submission of all documents required by the auditors
  • Coordinating with Investor Relations to obtain complete investor information and documentation for investment in the loans
  • Assisting with providing the investors’ copy of tax forms filed and supporting schedules

Requirements:

  • College Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in loan processing, accounting administration, or a similar role within the financial services industry
  • Complies with all Policies and Procedures, work results, and standard operating procedures
