Birkbeck, University of London, has an excellent opportunity for an Associate Lecturer to join the teaching team on the Certificate of Higher Education, BSc Foundation Year and BA Programmes and support the School of Psychological Sciences this Autumn 2026. Understanding Applied Cognitive Psychology, Level 4. 22 hours of teaching. Monday afternoon 2-4pm, or evenings 6-8pm. Your role will be to deliver teaching to Birkbeck students, in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully and undertake all related course administrative duties as required. Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment the Understanding Applied Cognitive Psychology module.

Requirements
A degree in Psychology
Relevant teaching experience, working with adult students within the HE sector
A good understanding of the needs of full and part-time adult learners and be able to relate well to their individual needs and engage their interest and enthusiasm
Experience of (or willingness to develop) a wide range of teaching and assessment methods
Demonstrably effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills across a range of relevant contexts
A working knowledge of IT including Word, Excel, e-mail and experience of (or willingness to use) Moodle & Teams.
