Job Responsibility

  • Origination and structuring of debt investments in financial institutions for the benefit of Micro/SME or Energy Efficiency / Renewable Energy (EE/RE) finance in Georgia and Azerbaijan
  • On- and off-site due diligence and monitoring of financial institutions (banks and non-bank financial institutions such as MFIs and leasing companies) and portfolios, including the organization of due diligences and writing of investment proposals
  • Monitoring of existing investees based on financial reports and statements
  • Monitoring/analysis of key market and economic developments with focus on Georgia/Azerbaijan and other countries of operation
  • Monitoring of financial sector regulatory and supervisory framework and policy
  • Supporting the market screening and mapping of eligible investees
  • Identifying institution building/technical assistance needs for financial institutions or market participants in the area of micro and SME as well as EE and RE finance and developing concepts and designs for the respective measures
  • Advancing responsible finance in countries of operations through respective dialogue, investment structuring, workshops and initiatives
  • Various additional tasks, as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Professional experience in banking or financial institutions
  • Demonstrated skills in analyzing financial institutions including banks, MFI and leasing companies etc.
  • Knowledge of development finance, including Micro/SME finance and/or EE/RE finance
  • Knowledge of the international and regional financial regulatory framework
  • Degree in economics, business administration, development finance, or a related field
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Strong analytical, writing and presentation skills enhanced by intercultural sensitivities
  • Relevant regional experience through professional assignments
  • Strong team player, open and engaging communication style, and strong inter-personal skills
  • Willingness to travel to other countries of operations
  • Demonstrable commitment to Finance in Motion´s vision/mission

Nice to have

knowledge of Russian would be an asset
