Negotiate and draft contracts, including software licensing agreements, health care provider contracts and supplier contracts
Provide legal counsel to the following BCBSAZ areas: Information Technology (including Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity), Procurement, Business Continuity, Transparency & Interoperability, Marketing (including Digital Marketing)
Manage Vendor Contract Forms
regularly evaluate Form language updating when needed
Manage and provide consultation with Related Party Agreements (other than those for Medicare and Medicaid entities)
Advise various BCBSAZ divisions/departments concerning healthcare and corporate issues including statutory and regulatory compliance, litigation avoidance, and prospective corrective action
Support company activities related to the No Suprises Act
Coordinate responses to DOI, attorney, provider, and member complaints, including drafting responses, reviewing responses drafted by paralegal and/or research assistants, and consulting with other BCBSAZ employees on responses
Gather and analyze data for special risk management projects
Work with Internal Audit and other departments regarding fraud investigation and prosecution
Regularly engage with internal clients on business and operational needs and goals with potential legal impacts and provide legal advice on options for achieving objectives
The position has an onsite expectation of 1 day per week and requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements

Requirements
5 year(s) of experience in the legal field
Juris Doctorate
Active, current, and unrestricted license to practice law in the State of Arizona or licensure in another jurisdiction and ability to become licensed to practice law in the State of Arizona
Admission to State Bar
