Job Description

Meta seeks a highly motivated, curious, adaptive team player to serve as Associate General Counsel, Product (Business AI). This role is dedicated to providing strategic legal advice to internal product and business teams, primarily in connection with our Business AI initiatives, with a particular focus on generative AI. The role requires the application of evolving legal frameworks to new products and services as well as a willingness to learn complex technical systems. This is a great opportunity to learn about interesting new technologies and business models and work on novel issues in an environment with constantly evolving priorities.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze global products, features, and initiatives and provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions
  • Provide product, engineering, and other business teams with legal advice across various subject areas including consumer protection laws, data protection laws and regulations, and other global legal frameworks
  • Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving legal analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across Meta’s business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) or foreign equivalent
  • Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
  • 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
  • Experience with product, privacy, or regulatory counseling related to global privacy laws and / or AI-related laws, regulations, and industry guidelines
  • Experience with managing legal risk across multiple jurisdictions
  • Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
  • Effective communication skills with experience communicating legal advice to clients at varying levels
  • Experience taking a proactive approach to your work and working under your own initiative, seeking feedback and input where appropriate
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously, delivering practical advice in a fast-paced and multi-stakeholder environment
  • Experience taking on projects involving different subject matters, and working collaboratively with cross-functional organizations to drive alignment
  • Proven problem-solving experience, particularly strategic issues
