Job Description:

This is a privacy-forward role. We are seeking an experienced U.S. privacy attorney who can also independently support and negotiate sophisticated commercial transactions. The role sits at the intersection of privacy, data, AI, and commercial execution and is designed for an attorney who is comfortable owning privacy issues end-to-end while applying that expertise in a fast-moving, deal-driven environment. This role will also play a central part in building and scaling legal processes across the company. The successful candidate will be expected to identify gaps, design pragmatic workflows, and drive cross-functional alignment on privacy, AI governance, and contracting processes. This role requires comfort operating with ambiguity, setting priorities independently, and exercising sound judgment to surface and address privacy and AI risks early without becoming a bottleneck to the business.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain and evolve Truveta’s privacy statements, notices, and related compliance materials, and provide pragmatic, business-centered legal advice to support and strengthen the company’s internal privacy and security practices
  • Monitor, interpret, and advise on emerging privacy- and AI-related legislation and regulatory developments, translating legal requirements into practical guidance
  • Independently negotiate commercial agreements with data suppliers and customers, addressing data use, privacy, security, and intellectual property
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve legal processes that enable privacy compliance, AI governance, and contracting to scale with the business
  • Represent Truveta in discussions with customers, partners, regulators, and other external stakeholders as appropriate

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of legal experience
  • Substantial hands-on responsibility for U.S. privacy law compliance in a technology or data-driven business
  • Demonstrated ability to independently negotiate and structure complex commercial agreements
  • Experience translating legal and regulatory requirements into scalable, adopted processes in cross-functional settings
  • Sound legal judgment and a demonstrated ability to provide balanced, practical, business-centered advice in a fast-paced environment
  • J.D or equivalent from an ABA accredited law school and an active license to practice law in the United States
  • Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
What we offer:
  • Interesting and meaningful work for every career stage
  • Competitive compensation
  • Comprehensive benefits with strong medical, dental and vision insurance plans
  • 401K plan
  • Professional development for continuous learning
  • Work/life autonomy via flexible work hours and flexible paid time off
  • Generous parental leave
  • Regular team activities (virtual and in-person)
