Job Description

Meta is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Litigation to strategically manage complex litigation including class actions, multi-district and state equivalent coordinated proceedings and product liability litigation. This is a unique opportunity to join a creative and collaborative legal team addressing complex, novel legal issues for one of the world’s most innovative technology companies.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage, develop and drive litigation strategy on complex litigation matters in collaboration with outside counsel and other attorneys on the Meta legal team
  • Manage pretrial case workup including initial motions practice, fact and expert discovery and summary judgment
  • Prepare company witnesses for deposition and trial testimony
  • Work with outside counsel and others on the Meta legal team to develop trial strategy
  • The role will require travel as the cases require (e.g., depositions, court hearings, and trials) as well as flexibility in work hours

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution
  • Active and in good standing bar license in at least one U.S. state or equivalent foreign bar license. Where the jurisdiction of licensure differs from the location in which the role is based, the ability to promptly obtain permission to practice law for Meta in that location
  • 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience in complex litigation, in-house, or government experience, with an emphasis on product liability and multidistrict litigation and state equivalent coordinated proceedings involving personal injury claims and bellwether trials
  • Demonstrated trial experience including the strategic coordination and management of litigation and trial preparation across multiple jurisdictions
  • Demonstrated business judgment and client counseling skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration and cross-functional partnership skills
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and demonstrated experience making strategic decisions in a deadline driven environment
  • Demonstrated flexibility to deploy skills where needed across matters and assume different roles across and within case teams as required
