Job Description:

Farber is looking for an Associate Enterprise BI Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of Farber’s management reports and dashboards for its various business units. Working closely with senior developers, departmental analysts, and IT staff, this role offers a strong opportunity to learn and grow while contributing to data modelling, requirements gathering, and the creation of insightful reporting and visualizations. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and data-driven insights that support informed decision-making across the organization.

Job Responsibility:

  • Create interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Power BI or other BI tools. ensuring data is presented in a clear and understandable format
  • Integrate data from various sources into Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. Sources include Databases, Dataverse, SharePoint, Excel, APIs
  • Develop Power BI reports / automated extracts using M, DAX, SQL, Python, Power Shell, Power Automate...
  • Document data models, reports, and dashboards to ensure that they are well-maintained and easy to understand
  • Provide feedback and guidance on best practices for data storage, querying, modelling, translation, and general report execution
  • Configure and manage various Power BI settings, components, and service elements
  • Manage Workspace administration, including security modeling at User, Report, and Data levels
  • Troubleshoot issues in Power BI reports and dashboards, and provide ongoing maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance
  • Support data validation and reconciliation processes, both in-project and ad-hoc
  • Perform data investigations and root-cause-analysis

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in Power BI Desktop development
  • Proficiency in SQL, DAX, M Language (Power Query Formula Language)
  • Experience with Power BI Security, Workspace Admin, and dataset/report migration
  • Demonstratable skills in connecting to the various aforementioned databases
  • Experience in RCA
  • The ability to effectively communicate complex problems with business leaders and project stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CRM)
  • Familiarity with Google BigQuery
  • Experience in project execution and development pipelines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Data Governance, metadata management, and compliance standards
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and DevOps practices for BI deployments
