Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering. Business: CTO Infrastructure.

Job Responsibility:

  • Influence strategy and shape the programme approach, building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and changes
  • Accountable for the delivery, governance & reporting to stakeholders including business & technology
  • Ability to build effective senior stakeholder relationships
  • Confidence to constructively challenge the agenda in order to help the business and technical teams deliver maximum value for each $ invested
  • Ensure the programme aligns to HSBC strategies and contribute towards achieving strategic aims
  • Ensure that all Technology practices and associated tools are being adopted and adhered to within the Programmes
  • Accountable for the financial management of the programme, including headcount and software delivery capitalisation
  • Work in collaboration with the Engineering serving platform Head for the negotiation with and management of, and service agreement monitoring of third party contracts with Technology suppliers, if applicable
  • Manage the development and promotion of the project management practices for Data Delivery
  • Work across business and technology to ensure that effective controls, procedures and quality assurance processes for the product have been applied in line with the Business Transformation Framework and HSBC Risk and Controls framework
  • Manage the reporting of progress, issues, dependencies and risks to committees and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realization

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to drive decisions to conclusion among multiple stakeholders within a matrix organization, leveraging strong influencing skills
  • Highly energetic and resilient professional adept at managing substantial program budgets while ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to scope
  • Exceptional project planning and execution capabilities, including expertise in business case development and benefits realization
  • Proficient in navigating boundaries across locations, business units, and technical change organizations, with comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure and business systems
  • Effective management of dependencies and interactions among related and complementary projects
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, along with strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering successful business-enabling programs
  • Practical and demonstrable understanding of HSBC’s leadership structure
  • Familiarity with project and program delivery methodologies utilized within HSBC
  • Awareness of AI capabilities and the AI Future State Architecture (FSA)
  • Recognized as a change champion, leading and supporting others through transitions with energy and enthusiasm
  • Skilled at identifying opportunities to implement scalable solutions that enhance efficiency and improve client experience
