Job Description:

Associate Director, Software Engineering (Azure Engineer) role at HSBC Technology China to develop, implement and support software and IT services that allow HSBC to remain at the forefront of high-quality banking systems.

Job Responsibility:

  • Engineer solutions on Azure foundation platform using Infrastructure-as-Code methods
  • Conduct code reviews, provide feedback and guidance to other team members
  • Build and manage the HSBC Azure foundation platform to enable application deployments
  • Ensure the Azure platform meets operational Risk framework
  • Ensure all relevant architecture governance, policy, and standards are met
  • Own engineering operating model and tools
  • Represent the Azure platform in discussions with internal IT partners and Microsoft
  • Provide Management reporting for continuous improvement
  • Execute the functional pattern lifecycle process
  • Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services
  • Manage Azure connectivity and networking
  • Ensure compliance with centrally defined Security
  • Ensure compliancy with Operational risk standards
  • Update support and operational documentation
  • Support the Service Delivery Manager to implement a 24 x 7 follow the sun support model
  • Develop solutions meeting HSBC Business contingency standards
  • Develop and promote the reuse of patterns
  • Be an Azure Platform evangelist
  • Gather requirements and provide continuous feedback loops between Cyber security and the wider Azure Cloud Services team

Requirements:

  • Have worked as an Engineering Lead in an enterprise organisation
  • Have managed people
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Non-Functional Requirements
  • Have experience managing stakeholders
  • Demonstrable Cloud service provider experience - infrastructure build and configurations of a variety of services including Compute, Containers, Container OS and Container orchestration
  • Experience of building a range of Services in Azure
  • Expert understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and techniques
  • Security and Compliance, e.g. IAM and cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools
  • Customer/stakeholder focus
  • Good leadership and teamwork skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Experience dealing with IT Audit, Security and Risk
  • Technical knowledge and breadth of Azure technology services
  • Demonstrable risk management knowledge
  • Keen problem solving skills
  • Experience working within an Agile team environment
  • Ability to quickly acquire new skills
  • Good command of English

Nice to have:

  • Industry recognised cloud certifications
  • Programming experience in PowerShell, Terraform, Go, Bash, Windows command prompt and object orientated programming languages
  • Technical knowledge (Directory Services, Microsoft Identity, Physical Networking, Firewalls, SDN, XPN, Billing, Operating Systems, Containers, Azure Resource Hierarchy)
  • Experience operating in highly regulated industry, e.g. Financial Services
