Join HSBC as an Associate Director, Software Engineering Specialist to lead and innovate data-driven solutions, partner with stakeholders, and contribute to business growth. Work on cutting-edge technologies in an inclusive and collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and contribute to the design, development, and deployment of data-driven solutions, interactive dashboards, and actionable reports, ensuring alignment with evolving business requirements and advanced visualization needs
  • Partner closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define project objectives, prioritise deliverables, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions
  • Architect, design, and implement scalable ETL processes using PySpark, Python, and other relevant technologies
  • Champion and enforce best practices for software development, data engineering workflows, and code quality standards across the team
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and well-optimised code
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust data-driven solutions that support organisational strategy and business growth
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and CI/CD pipelines, optimising processes for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
  • Apply data science methodologies, including machine learning and predictive analytics, to solve business problems and enhance decision-making
  • Continuously research, evaluate, and adopt emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and improve project outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree
  • B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc in Computer Science/IT preferred (or any engineering field considered) or equivalent
  • 10+ Years of experience and Strong expertise in data engineering, including ETL/ELT frameworks, data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Apache), and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
  • Proficiency in programming with Python, PySpark, and Shell Scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and data warehousing solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with Splunk or similar data visualization tools, including onboarding new data sources and developing insightful, user-friendly dashboards
  • Strong understanding of data science concepts, including machine learning, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics
  • Hands-on experience with data science tools and frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible Automation, JIRA, Confluence, and ServiceNow
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
