Job Description

We are currently recruiting an Associate Director – Systems and Safety Assurance to lead the delivery of complex rail and transport assurance projects across Australia, provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams, and play a visible role in client acquisition, revenue growth and market expansion within the SESA capability. With Victoria’s rail sector set to rebound on the back of major projects, the company is looking to appoint a senior leader to capitalise on the growth opportunity. A strong track record in winning work and growing the business footprint in Victoria will be a key part of the role.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead delivery of systems engineering and safety assurance services across complex rail and transport projects
  • Provide technical leadership across assurance, safety cases, hazard management, RAMS and compliance
  • Build trusted client relationships and convert opportunities into ongoing work
  • Drive business development through lead generation, tenders, proposals and strategic account growth
  • Identify new clients, expand existing accounts and grow the SESA footprint in Victoria
  • Lead, mentor and develop engineers and consultants within the team
  • Oversee assurance plans, safety cases, hazard logs, risk assessments and key deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including EN 50126/8/9, ISO 15288 and IEC 61508
  • Lead stakeholder workshops, design reviews and assurance forums, with clear risk reporting

Requirements

  • Australian working rights
  • Extensive experience in systems engineering or safety assurance within rail, transport or other regulated industries
  • Strong knowledge of key standards and frameworks, including EN 50126/8/9, ISO 15288 and IEC 61508
  • Experience developing and reviewing safety cases, assurance plans and hazard analyses
  • Strong proposal, tender and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior level

Nice to have

Established relationships with decision-makers across organisations such as VIDA, DoT, MTM, V/Line, SRLA and Tier 1 contractors will be highly regarded
