The Associate Director, Operational Resilience Governance is part of the independent risk management function and accountable for the Operational Resilience Framework and program across UK, Europe, and APAC. This includes owning formal governance requirements and documents including frameworks, policies, and standards, building, and maintaining the operational resilience program structure and requirements, providing oversight and challenge on the execution of the program and providing periodic reporting on the program effectiveness and the outcomes of RBC’s resilience activities. The role supports the Director and Senior Director, Operational Resilience Governance in driving the Operational Resilience program across UK, Europe, and APAC businesses to ensure regional regulatory requirements are captured and regional critical operations are identified, assessed, tested in line with resilience requirements. This role is a permanent, full-time position and requires 4 days in the office.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting the development of the Operational Resilience program requirements and activities specific to UK, Europe, and APAC
Establishing regional governance requirements including addenda to the Enterprise Operational Resilience Standard where deemed necessary
Regulatory horizon scanning within the UK, Europe & APAC, and interpretation of rules/ regulation to ensure that RBC’s policies and programs are effective and aligned with global regulatory requirements
Oversight of the Operational Resilience lifecycle programme completion and outcomes across UK, Europe, and APAC cycles, providing structure for the 1st Line of Defense and transparency of progress in meeting these
Supporting global Operational Resilience activities to ensure consistent and align holistic approaches to monitoring and execution
Acting as an Operational Resilience subject matter expert in internal and external stakeholder engagements across UK, Europe & APAC jurisdictions
Supporting the preparation of reporting on Operational Resilience on a periodic basis to regional UK, Europe, and APAC governance committees
Requirements:
Extensive experience in financial services sector with a solid understanding operational risk/ resilience management fundamental
Experience of working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
Note, the role provides support to APAC regions and, as such, accommodation of occasional meetings within APAC hours (7am-9am GMT) 1-2 times per month is required
