Associate Director of Transportation and Mobility

• Planning, design, and day-to-day operations for roads, sidewalks, bike lanes, parking, and traffic control systems, as well as management of the public right-of-way
• Supervises professional staff, consultants, and interns
• Manages complex capital and operational projects
• Develops budgets
• Oversees contracts
• Pursues grants to support transportation and mobility investments
• Advances key initiatives such as Complete Streets, Vision Zero, traffic calming, bicycle network implementation, shared mobility programs, permit parking, and EV charging
• Licensing and regulation of taxis, livery, valet, jitney, and rideshare services
• Representing the Town with regional and state partners including the MBTA and MassDOT

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation planning/management, or a related field
• at least five years of progressively responsible experience, including two years in a municipal setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• PE license desirable
• Massachusetts driver’s license required
• Strong supervisory, project management, and communication skills are essential
