Job Description

Four Seasons Resort Hualālai is seeking an Associate Director of Special Events to help lead one of Hawaiʻi’s most dynamic luxury event operations. This role is ideal for a passionate hospitality leader who thrives in a high-touch, relationship-driven environment and is energized by creating exceptional guest experiences through flawless event execution.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the leadership and day-to-day operations of the Special Events department while personally selling and servicing events
  • Foster a high-trust, collaborative culture that empowers and develops a team of event professionals
  • Drive operational efficiency, sales performance, and service excellence through coaching, training, and innovation
  • Lead weekly resume meetings, onboarding, and ongoing development initiatives for the team
  • Oversee catering call volume, response times, conversion metrics, and sales performance reporting
  • Partner cross-functionally with Culinary, Operations, Finance, and vendor partners to ensure seamless event execution
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and business planning efforts, including weekly and monthly performance analysis
  • Act as a senior point of contact for complex or escalated guest situations, ensuring timely resolution
  • Maintain Four Seasons brand standards while ensuring accuracy across event documentation, resumes, and billing

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in Wedding, Catering & Conference Services leadership within a full-service resort or hotel environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build lasting client relationships
  • Demonstrated people leadership, coaching, and development experience
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of creativity
  • Financial and business acumen, including forecasting and sales analysis
  • Proficiency in sales and catering systems (Golden S&C preferred) and Microsoft Office tools
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours based on event needs
