A well-established independent elementary school in the Los Angeles area is hiring an Associate Director of Development & Annual Giving. This role owns the annual giving campaign from strategy through stewardship, including donor segmentation, solicitation calendars, gift acknowledgment, and reporting, while supporting major fundraising events, volunteer committees, and the school's broader philanthropic program. There is a clear path to a director-level role over the next several years as the development office builds bench strength.
Job Responsibility
Manage the annual fund campaign end to end, including strategy, timelines, solicitations, and campaign analysis
Draft donor communications and stewardship materials, including appeals, acknowledgments, and impact reports
Administer the development database and produce giving reports, dashboards, and campaign metrics
Support signature fundraising events and alumni engagement
Recruit and coordinate parent and volunteer fundraising committees
Build relationships with parents, alumni, trustees, and friends of the school
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required
3-5+ years of progressively responsible fundraising, advancement, or nonprofit development experience
independent school experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated direct ownership of an annual giving or annual fund campaign, not just event or major-gifts support
Experience with a fundraising CRM such as Veracross, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or Blackbaud
Strong analytical and reporting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism and discretion
Willingness to work fully on-site, five days a week, with occasional evenings and weekends for events
