Job Description

Beam is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Associate Director, Investor Relations to join our growing Investor Relations and External Communications team at a pivotal moment in the company's evolution. In this role, you will support the execution of Beam's investor relations strategy and play a central part in shaping how Beam's science, pipeline, and corporate narrative are communicated to the investment community. You will partner closely with senior leadership, finance, legal, corporate communications, and program teams to translate complex clinical and scientific milestones into clear, compelling, investor-ready messaging across earnings cycles, conferences, and one-on-one engagements. This position is critical to building a best-in-class IR function as Beam transitions from a clinical-stage to commercial-stage biotechnology company delivering on the promise of base editing for patients with serious diseases.

Job Responsibility

  • Support execution of Beam’s investor relations strategy, including proactive engagement with buy-side and sell-side investors
  • Help manage investor targeting, outreach, and meeting coordination for one-on-ones, conferences, and non-deal roadshows
  • Track investor sentiment, ownership trends, and peer activity to inform outreach strategy and positioning
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for inbound investor and analyst inquiries
  • Support continuous improvement of IR best practices and infrastructure
  • Support preparation of key disclosures and quarterly earnings materials, including scripts, slide decks, Q&A documents, and press releases
  • Help ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across external disclosures in coordination with legal and finance
  • Manage internal consensus models
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to: stay current on program updates and key milestones
  • translate technical data into clear, investor-relevant narratives

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, corporate finance, or strategic communications, with meaningful exposure to public biotechnology or life sciences companies
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, public company disclosure requirements, and investor expectations
  • Ability to synthesize complex scientific, clinical, and financial information into clear, concise messaging
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong project management capabilities
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment

Nice to have

  • Prior experience supporting a pipeline-driven biotech company with multiple clinical programs
  • Exposure to companies approaching or undergoing a transition to commercial stage
