Job Description:

As RBC Global Asset Management's Associate Director, Graphic Design, you will be part of the team that leads the creative vision and visual identity evolution for a globally recognised asset management leader. In this strategic role, you will act as both art director and design leader, partnering with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Communications, and Distribution teams to translate business objectives into compelling visual experiences. You'll help shape how clients, investors, and partners perceive the RBC GAM brand through high-impact campaigns, digital platforms, thought leadership content, and communications that resonate in the competitive global asset management landscape. Leading a talented design team, you will provide design direction, mentorship, and hands-on design expertise for priority initiatives while establishing and maintaining design systems and brand standards that ensure consistency across all touchpoints. You will also roll up your sleeves to contribute directly to key creative projects, ensuring design excellence at every stage. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in graphic design and brand strategy with a modern, forward-thinking mindset—someone who understands how design systems, visual storytelling, and technology converge to create differentiated brand experiences. You shall be expected to champion design excellence, stay attuned to industry trends, and confidently steward RBC GAM's visual identity as a trusted, innovative leader in global asset management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide art direction on marketing campaigns, digital content, and communications initiatives across multiple business units and geographies
  • Design and execute high-impact visual assets including campaign collateral, digital graphics, infographics, and executive presentations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product, Communications, and Distribution to understand business needs and translate strategy into creative concepts
  • Mentor and coach design team members, providing feedback on work quality, design thinking, and professional development
  • Work with the Creative Director on staying current on RBC’s enterprise brand standards
  • Establish and maintain design systems, brand guidelines, and visual standards to ensure consistency across all RBC GAM touchpoints
  • Manage design workflows and priorities, balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day requests from stakeholders
  • Stay current on design trends, brand best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the asset management industry
  • Review and refine digital and print materials to ensure they meet brand standards and business objectives
  • Participate in creative brainstorms and strategy sessions to shape RBC GAM's visual identity and brand positioning
  • Contribute hands-on to key design projects, from concept development through final delivery
  • Communicate design rationale and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the strategic integration of AI-driven innovation into creative services, overseeing end-to-end implementation of cutting-edge solutions to enhance content creation, design efficiency, and campaign optimisation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar / strong educational background in Design, Visual Arts, or a related / relevant field
  • Extensive design experience, with a strong background in a leadership role managing creative teams
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating strategic creativity, brand stewardship, and team impact
  • Expertise in design principles, typography, colour theory, and digital/print production
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, Figma and other industry tools
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, manage complex projects, and drive results in fast-paced environments
  • Experience in a corporate setting, ideally within financial services or regulated industries
  • Strong business acumen, including budget management and ROI-driven creative decision-making

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with project management tools (such as Asana, Wrike, Workfront etc.)
  • Experience with motion graphics, animation, or video editing software (such as After Effects, Premiere Pro)
  • Knowledge of web design tools or front-end development basics
  • Knowledge of design systems and brand governance
  • Familiarity with marketing strategy or digital transformation
  • Project management certifications
  • Background in financial services, asset management, or investment communications
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in marketing communications
  • Experience in remote or distributed team environments
  • Understanding of accessibility standards
What we offer:
  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses, flexible benefits and competitive compensation
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
  • Opportunities to work with the best in the field
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
  • A world-class training program in financial services
