Job Description

With the increase in demand for innovative financing and transaction options for the infrastructure and renewables sector, JLL is looking for an Infrastructure and Renewables expert to join their recently launched Asia Pacific team. In this newly created role, you will be a core part of the Australia team, focusing on key markets across the Asia Pacific region. JLL’s Infrastructure and Energy business will focus on providing specialist transactional and financial advisory services to developers of and investors in renewable energy assets across a range of technologies including solar PV, wind, hydrogen, energy storage across the APAC market. The team’s expertise includes: M&A: disposal and acquisition of renewable energy assets (projects, portfolios, or platforms); Equity capital raising for seed, development and construction capital; Debt capital raising for senior, junior, mezzanine and HoldCo debt; Select broader strategic advice, including PPA advisory; commercial, financial, and strategic advice on renewables strategies and valuations and project appraisals. You will be based in Australia and will have the opportunity to work on mandates throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Job Responsibility

  • With support from senior colleagues, take the lead on day to day execution of M&A transactions, equity/debt capital raises and other client engagements by project-managing the day-to-day activities and coordinating all parties involved
  • Manage the relationship with existing clients as well as internal and external stakeholders
  • Working with junior team members, prepare financial models and transaction documents (e.g. teaser, IM, Q&A, etc.) as well as client deliverables
  • Proactively supporting in pursuing new business development opportunities through the generation of client leads and preparation of and involvement in pitches
  • Lead the development of in-house financial modelling and junior financial modelling resource and undertake valuation assignments
  • Manage junior team members on assignments and contribute to their learning and development journey
  • Develop thought leadership materials and produce sector insights on the renewable market to build your brand
  • Supporting the growth and development of Energy and Infrastructure team through a variety of internal tasks

Requirements

  • A Bachelors or equivalent university degree
  • Demonstrable experience in managing M&A transactions and financing operations
  • Experience of producing (and overseeing production of) high-quality documents using the full suite of Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and using complex financial/Excel models
  • Knowledge of the Asia Pacific renewable energy market
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to improve and the ability to learn on the job
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business and build client relationships
  • Ability to proactively overcome qualitative and quantitative challenges confidently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment
  • A strong appetite to pursue a leading career in the renewable energy and infrastructure space
  • Experience of, and motivation for, managing and developing junior team members
