Job Description:

HSBC seeks an experienced professional for the role of Associate Director, Delivery Management. The role involves coaching Agile Teams, optimizing E2E Agile processes, ensuring effective tool usage, and supporting leadership in Agile delivery at pace. Candidates must have deep SAFe and Agile knowledge, certifications, and expertise in tools like JIRA and Confluence.

Job Responsibility:

  • E2E Agile Team Optimisation: Support the structuring of Agile Teams and Sub Value Streams according to design patterns – advising on required roles to form effective cross-functional teams.
  • Identify low velocity teams and issue causes, highlighting solutions to SVS leadership.
  • Feature Kanban Flow: Partner with Lean Portfolio Management to ensure Feature Flow Management workflow is followed and to identify training & coaching opportunities to improve Feature Flow and metrics through such activities as Feature Slicing workshops, removing dependencies etc.
  • PI Planning: Coach, train and provide ongoing support to SVS key stakeholders and Agile Teams for preparation, facilitation and delivery of all aspects of the quarterly PI Planning cycle.
  • Tooling: Drive usage of strategic toolset, automation and adherence to standard taxonomy.
  • Deliver 1:1 coaching and bespoke training to SVS Leadership and GPB&W senior leaders.
  • Continuously improve ways of working across the SVS and drive an agile continuous improvement culture, coaching senior leadership on how to enable agile delivery at pace.
  • Responsible for helping Agile Teams continuously reflect and improve, becoming more effective in their roles and increasing their predictability, collaboration, and quality practices.
  • Coach key roles on their responsibilities, advising leadership of forum cadence and meeting techniques, and defining inputs and artefacts.
  • Perform ongoing assessments of team level agile maturity.
  • Maximise the effectiveness of the Scrum Master population by facilitating coaching and training sessions, supporting community building and ensuring effective onboarding.
  • Proactively identify, create and deliver agile training sessions to support ongoing Lean-Agile maturity in both face to face and virtual environments and time zones.
  • Drive sharing of best practice through asset creation, participation in cross VS Agile Forums to disseminate learnings.
  • Establishing Lean-Agile Communities of Practice.
  • Challenge where best practice/behaviour is not evident, so that the team continues to improve and reduce or eliminate errors.
  • Promotes pace and energy within the team, understands differences between people as an opportunity to learn from varied viewpoints.
  • Strategic thinking, strong analytical, organizational, cross-functional collaboration, communication, and presentation skills are mandatory to be successful in this position.
  • Strong stakeholder management / Relationship Management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Think critically to identity root causes, looking beyond a problem's surface to offer sustainable solution.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years’ experience coaching Agile Teams working in Agile & Lean Frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of SAFe and Agile with hands-on experience in Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and/or eXtreme Programming, with knowledge of other Agile scaling frameworks an advantage.
  • Knowledge of HSBC tools and processes.
  • Experience of JIRA, Confluence, Rally and Clarity.
  • SAFe SPC Certification (SAFe Practice Consultant) or equivalent.
  • Scrum Master Certification.
