Job Description

10x Genomics is seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to join our Legal team as the dedicated lead for global sales-related contracting. Reporting to the Vice President, Transactions, and managing two direct reports, this role is central to both the planning and execution of our most important commercial initiatives. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to help shape the growth of a leading biotechnology company. You will provide dedicated contracts and other support to our global Sales organization, negotiate high-impact agreements with strategic customers and partners, and be an essential stakeholder in operationalization of new commercial programs.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead a high-performing team as the primary legal resource for our global Sales organization, focused 100% on supporting 10x’s commercial initiatives
  • Help drive operationalization of a wide variety of new and expanding product and service offerings, including new ordering and pricing models
  • Oversee negotiations for complex, high-impact and high-visibility sales transactions, including master sales agreements and customer collaborations
  • Serve as the global escalation point for all sales-related legal matters, including contract negotiations, disputes, and distributor and service provider relationships
  • Work with other internal 10x teams to build practical processes for tracking and compliance with customer requirements
  • Investigate and implement tools (such as AI) to support all of the above and improve team efficiency and scalability

Requirements

  • 7+ years directly drafting and negotiating commercial terms and other agreements, including contracting with academic, pharma, and biotech life sciences customers across the globe
  • Must include in-house experience
  • Able to serve as a strong business partner, who can integrate legal advice with business acumen and sound understanding of Sales organization dynamics
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully operationalizing legal support for commercial organizations, with a clear understanding of the needs of a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in commercial sales and operations
  • Creative, independent, and solutions-oriented
  • able to manage multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to advise and educate colleagues at all levels
  • Detail-oriented with a high commitment to accuracy

Nice to have

  • JD degree and admitted to practice (preferably in California)
  • Experience managing and leading other legal or contract professionals
  • Experience with implementing legal technology tools, such as AI for contract review and management
  • Commercial contracting experience spanning both RUO and diagnostic products and services
