Job Description:

HSBC is seeking an experienced professional for the role of Associate Director, Business Analysis. This role involves overseeing product planning, collaborating with stakeholders, and managing product roadmaps in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include shaping products at a high level, working with technical teams, and driving innovation while ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the product planning, roadmap development, feasibility assessments, and high-level design of business systems or subsystems, technology projects and functions from a technical perspective
  • Working with the Product Owners to shape and structure the MPO product at a high level
  • Collaborate with business product management, technical architecture and other stakeholders to identify product / customer requirements, assess impacts to other data and systems, consider available technologies, compare costs and benefits and recommend solutions, collaborating closely with the engineering team in building out new features
  • Work with business entities, vendors and service providers in providing technical solutions for business initiatives, and act as the key point of contact for the Global Business Product Owners
  • Assess solution viability and recommend strategies and tactics to satisfy customer needs, championing and articulating the merit of each, defending in funding and prioritisation both to IT and the business
  • Ensure effective handover from the Global Future Backlog into the relevant programme delivery pipeline, by co-ordinating with Technical Analysts, Project Management and Engineering SMEs in the delivery domain
  • Oversee execution of project delivery in respect to the achievement of the defined product roadmap and approved investment commitments
  • Integrate market innovations into the product evolution, balancing return on investment and adhering to the Group’s enterprise architecture, FIM and regulatory requirements
  • Understand the budget assigned and work with the programme to shape the roadmap
  • Manage development of product roadmaps in support of the business appetite
  • Keep informed on technical and professional developments affecting area of responsibility and advise department and division management on new developments
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of businesses supported
  • provide guidance in the use of technology to meet short and long-term requirements
  • Build and maintain effective business relationships across the global businesses and regional teams, understand key drivers and metrics, and effectively prioritize competing demands from a number of lines of business
  • Manage supplier engagements in feasibility and pre-pipeline activity

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of working within an Agile and/or DevOps methodology
  • Past working experience in a relevant role
  • Ability to plan, manage and run workshops and walk-throughs of new products and features
  • Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. Occasional travel required to meet business stakeholders
  • Experience working in relevant market / context, i.e. mortgages is desirable but not essential
  • A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently, under pressure and proactively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • an ability to communicate, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
  • Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively
  • Experience working in a Digital environment and delivering on a customer channel
