Associate Designer – Transmission and Distribution

• Assist in computer-aided design (CAD) operations, including plan production and entry-level design tasks under moderate supervision
• Develop detailed drawings for utility transmission and substation projects using MicroStation, Revit, or AutoCAD
• Support the creation and modification of plan sheets, layouts, and design models
• Assist in updating project specifications, running design calculations, and determining material needs
• Collaborate with engineers and senior designers to ensure project accuracy and efficiency
• Perform engineering support tasks, including gathering data, maintaining computer files, and documenting design changes
• Participate in client meetings and site visits to better understand project requirements and design feasibility

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to contribute and work well with a team
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Associate degree in a related field (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar design software
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment and communicate technical concepts effectively
• Experience in substation or utility transmission design (preferred but not required)
