We’re looking for an Associate Data Engineer/BI Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team in Sydney. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in Power BI who’s keen to grow into data engineering and advanced analytics on the Microsoft stack. You’ll start by building reports and data models in Power BI, while gradually expanding your skills into data pipelines, warehouses, and data lakes. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to enterprise platforms such as Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Fabric, working with real operational and financial data.
Job Responsibility:
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and semantic models for business and operational reporting
Analyze Dynamics 365 data (e.g., finance, sales, operations) and translate complex ERP data into clear business insights
Assist with data cleaning, transformations, and SQL queries across multiple data sources
Support the development of data warehousing and data lake solutions on the Microsoft platform
Work closely with senior team members to understand enterprise data structures, metrics, and reporting requirements
Requirements:
Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report development)
Basic SQL skills and an understanding of relational data
Strong interest in data engineering, analytics, or enterprise systems
Good problem-solving skills with clear communication
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
Nice to have:
Exposure to Dynamics 365, Azure services, Microsoft Fabric, or cloud data platforms
Experience with Python or PySpark
