Job Description

The Credit Risk Team serves as a key function of Clear Street’s risk management framework. The Team enforces a strong credit culture by managing and mitigating the firm’s counterparty risk to enable the firm to grow in a scalable and prudent manner. As a Credit Risk Associate at Clear Street, you will be part of the Risk Management Team contributing to a robust and evolving risk framework to support the firm’s growth. In this role, the ideal candidate will have responsibilities for performing credit due diligence on the firm’s existing and prospective client base, on-going monitoring and management of a diverse and complex portfolio of risks and participate in projects to further enhance the firm’s credit risk framework.

Job Responsibility

  • Assess the credit and financial strength of the firm's prospective counterparties by performing fundamental credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative factors
  • Monitor credit risk exposures across our client base on a daily basis
  • Perform exposure analysis regularly to assess portfolio concentrations or trends
  • Maintain and update credit analytics of the firm’s client base
  • Recommend and communicate credit exposure appetite across trading products utilizing internal policies and methodologies
  • Address data integrity problems that impact the accuracy of the risk analytics or Counterparty Credit Risk profile
  • Collaborate with Sales & Trading, Legal, Operations and Compliance departments for client due diligence meetings, legal negotiations(ISDA/GMSLA/GMRA etc.) for traded products and team efficiency projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or any other quantitative fields
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in credit risk management experience at a prime brokerage, broker-dealer or investment bank
  • Analytical skills, problem solving ability and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to understand counterparty portfolio level risk and its impact across the firm
  • Aptitude for building relationships and ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal with differing levels of product experience
