Job Description:

A multidisciplinary consultancy with global experience, Blake Newport has been successfully delivering commercial management, planning, dispute resolution and Expert Witness services for over 40 years to the construction, engineering and outsourcing industries. We are currently seeking an Associate Consultant for our Darlington Office. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and professional individual.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with forensic analysis of tender, contract and claims documentation
  • Support with the preparation of claims for loss and expense
  • Support with the preparation of adjudication documentation
  • Assist with drafting of written reports, setting out process, conclusions and recommendations
  • Experience of and ability to operate Standard Forms of Contract (JCT/NEC/FIDIC)
  • Some knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (JCT/NEC/FIDIC)
  • Assist with provision of commercial consultant services to our clients
  • Support and play an active role in business development

Requirements:

  • Working towards or recently attained a Quantity Surveying Degree or be from a law background with a strong interest in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution and willing to undertake further training
  • Aspirations to attain MRICS qualification
  • An interest in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Some experience of major construction and engineering projects would be beneficial
  • The ability to assist with the preparation, assessment and interrogation of construction costs
  • A clear and concise communicator in English (oral and written)
  • The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
