The Associate Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) of Holtz Children's & Women's Hospital reports to JMH VP/CFO and is the financial executive of the hospital, responsible for the strategic leadership, oversight, and stewardship of all financial operations and performance. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the ACFO serves as a strategic advisor to Service Line VP and JMH executive team. Collaborates across clinical, operational, and administrative functions to ensure the financial sustainability, integrity, and growth of the organization. The ACFO is accountable for developing financial strategies for the hospital that support high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, capital planning, and long-term fiscal health.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the development and execution of short- and long-term financial strategies aligned with the hospital's mission, vision, and strategic goals
Provide financial counsel to the Service Line VP and executive team to inform decision-making on service line development, resource allocation, and investment prioritization
Drive financial performance improvement initiatives that align operational execution with strategic objectives
Oversee the hospital's financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring they are data-driven, forward-looking, and aligned with institutional priorities
Ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting, including operational dashboards, financial statements, and key performance indicators for internal and external stakeholders
Analyze financial performance trends and lead scenario planning to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
Oversee the efficient and effective management of hospital financial resources, including expense management, productivity analysis, and revenue optimization
Provide executive leadership in the development and execution of capital budgets, ensuring appropriate prioritization, funding strategies, and return on investment
Evaluate business cases for new programs, partnerships, and capital projects, ensuring strategic fit and financial viability
Provide strategic oversight of the revenue cycle function to ensure optimal reimbursement, patient access, and financial integrity
Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and reporting standards, including those from CMS, state agencies, and external auditors
Support the development and enforcement of internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard financial assets and mitigate risk
Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to align financial strategies with care delivery, quality improvement, and patient satisfaction goals
Serve as the primary financial liaison to hospital boards and committees, presenting financial performance updates and strategic financial plans
Build and maintain effective relationships with system-level finance leadership to ensure alignment and coordination where necessary
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team that exemplifies accountability, collaboration, and excellence
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, financial literacy, and cross-functional partnership across the hospital
Perform all other related executive functions and duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic objectives of Jackson Health System
Requirements:
Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience
Leadership experience is required
Bachelor's degree in related field is required
Master's degree and CPA are strongly preferred
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty
Nice to have:
Women's and Children's hospital experience highly preferred
