Job Description

The role of the Business Development Associate is to accelerate sales to expand the firm’s user base and offerings within companies across corporate markets in India & South Asia. The candidate will focus on identifying, qualifying, and closing new revenue opportunities as well as work on contract renewals, optimizing client experience, gaining market share, and pursuing excellence in close collaboration with a team of GLG servicing team professionals. This candidate will also have an opportunity to work with senior leaders across both the internal organization and within their clients, including developing partnerships with SVPs, EVPs and CXOs of large operating companies.

Job Responsibility

  • Leverage professional network to build new relationships at operating companies and engage at a granular level with industry executives on topics of critical importance to their businesses
  • Collaborate with senior BD team members in securing enterprise-level agreements for both existing clients and new business opportunities
  • Identify and engage with senior industry leaders within the Corporate segment to develop new relationships and grow existing business relationships
  • Identify growth opportunities, build & execute acquisition targets, plans, and realize objectives by helping GLG become a preferred go to partner for clients
  • Set roadmap for overall book of business and at the account level
  • Ensure overall client user satisfaction with GLG services and collaborate with servicing team to implement adjustments in servicing model when necessary
  • Develop sales collateral and support the wider Corporate markets – Sales team with the production of promotional materials, especially around GLG’s new product offerings
  • Work creatively and collaboratively with internal colleagues- marketing, compliance, legal, finance, technology to deliver solutions to solve complex overall client business issues
  • Work closely with GLG project teams to support execution and delivery of research projects, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Collaborate with GLG’s research teams to target new areas of opportunity and further develop the GLG’s service product offering

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to make consultative enterprise-level sales to corporate clients (technology, industrial, BFSI, CPG, etc), as well as to develop, build and execute account plans by coordinating resources across multiple client service teams
  • Proficiency to articulate the value of primary research and GLG’s proposition to large and small audiences alike
  • Impeccable attention to detail, ideally in a high-volume and fast paced environment
  • Clear track record of excellence in several categories, including teamwork, professionalism, communication, organization, and client service. Successful candidates will naturally align to and demonstrate GLG’s core values of courage, integrity, curiosity, and judgement

Nice to have

1 to 3 years of experience as an individual contributor in business development function (selling consultative product and services to Corporate across Industries)
