Job Responsibility
Provide pre-contract advice on construction, contracts, and cost matters, including feasibility assessments
Conduct detailed inspections of existing buildings, diagnose defects, and prepare high-quality reports with recommendations for repair, maintenance, and refurbishment
Lead building surveying projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and client expectations
Prepare specifications, manage tender processes, and produce contract documentation
Advise clients and junior team members on procurement strategies
Undertake contract administration, valuations, certification, and chair project meetings
Offer expert guidance on dilapidations, party wall matters, and wider property-related issues
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies
Lead and develop a small team of Building Surveyors, supporting their progression and managing ongoing work programmes
Mentor graduates and support them through their professional qualifications
Contribute to the development and growth of the team through strong client engagement and high-quality project delivery
Requirements
MRICS status
Strong experience within building surveying and project-based work
Consultancy background with proven client-facing experience
Demonstrable leadership abilities and a collaborative mindset
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence presenting in person and virtually
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships across all levels
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work to the highest standard
Valid UK driving licence
A flexible and proactive approach, with willingness to work across the South East and central London
