We're a dynamic and growing litigation firm seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Attorney to join our team. We're looking for an attorney with 2-8 years of experience in California civil litigation. We focus on business, commercial, construction, and employment law. You'll work directly with partners, gain hands-on experience, and receive one-on-one mentorship to advance your legal career.
Job Responsibility:
Manage all phases of litigation, from inception through trial
Draft and respond to substantive motions, including motions for summary judgment and demurrers
Conduct and defend depositions
Engage in discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
Participate in all aspects of trial preparation
Perform legal research and analysis
Draft pleadings, briefs, and other court filings
Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California
2-8 years of experience in civil litigation, with exposure to one or more of the following: business, commercial, construction, or employment litigation
Proven experience drafting substantive motions and preparing for trial
Experience with depositions is required
Desire to work in a small law firm (you would be the fourth attorney on staff).
