We are a growing regional Creditors’ Rights law firm seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to manage matters from case inception through post-judgment remedies. Our firm values high-quality work, effective communication, and ownership, and we pride ourselves on treating all individuals with fairness and respect. This role is particularly well-suited for a newly barred attorney, especially candidates with a recent North Carolina UBE score, who are eager to grow their legal career and obtain additional bar admissions. The Associate Attorney will handle a high-volume caseload, represent clients in court, negotiate resolutions, and provide sound legal guidance while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Interact with customers respectfully and work toward fair, sustainable payment resolutions
Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
Manage cases from inception through post-judgment remedies
Analyze legal and regulatory risks and provide clear recommendations
Negotiate with opposing counsel to resolve matters efficiently
Appear in courts throughout North Carolina to represent clients and attend hearings
Collaborate with the Managing Attorney to report on case activity, results, and progress
Requirements:
Active North Carolina law license (required)
Recent NC UBE passage strongly preferred
Interest in pursuing additional bar admissions (SC, TN, FL, VA, MD, MI, OH, and others)
0–3 years of experience in bankruptcy, collections, civil litigation, or related practice areas
Courtroom experience preferred but not required
Working knowledge of federal debt collection laws and state civil litigation procedures
Strong analytical and legal writing skills
Excellent verbal communication and negotiation abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
