Associate Attorney

• Represent clients in misdemeanor cases, ensuring their legal rights are protected and advocating for favorable outcomes
• Manage a manageable caseload of 2-3 cases daily, allowing for in-depth case preparation and comprehensive client support
• Conduct court appearances regularly, engaging with judges, district attorneys, and other legal professionals
• Build strong relationships with clients by demonstrating empathy, confidence, and effective communication
• Handle referral-based cases, often involving first-time offenders or one-off technical violations
• Participate in client intake and follow-ups, ensuring timely and accurate communication throughout the legal process
• Shadow and collaborate with senior attorney to gain valuable insights and experience
• Gradually take on more complex cases and responsibilities as skills and confidence develop
• Maintain professionalism and presence in the courtroom while representing clients effectively

• Must hold bar admission and be a licensed attorney
• 0-3 years of legal experience, with a willingness to learn and adapt to the firm's practices
• Strong passion for criminal defense and advocacy, with a commitment to serving clients effectively
• Confidence and approachability, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
• Comfortable with regular court appearances and engaging with legal professionals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a supportive team

Prior experience or interest in nonprofit or advocacy work is a plus
