We are looking for a dedicated Associate Attorney specializing in medical malpractice to join our team in Sacramento, California. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work both in-office and remotely while contributing to significant legal cases. The ideal candidate will excel in providing legal counsel, managing litigation, and collaborating effectively with senior attorneys.
Job Responsibility:
Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, ensuring their rights and interests are protected
Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategy and decision-making
Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and clarity
Represent clients in court proceedings, advocating effectively on their behalf
Handle labor and employment law cases, including negotiating settlements and resolving disputes
Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex litigation matters to develop comprehensive legal strategies
Review medical records and other case-related documents to identify key information
Manage discovery processes, including depositions and evidence gathering
Maintain responsibility for multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring timely progress and resolution
Build strong relationships with clients through clear communication and attentive representation
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active membership in the California State Bar
Demonstrated ability to independently draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery
Experience in civil defense litigation, particularly in medical malpractice cases, is highly desirable
Proficient in conducting legal research and providing sound legal advice
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve favorable outcomes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and legal teams
Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have:
Experience in civil defense litigation, particularly in medical malpractice cases, is highly desirable
